relationships

What do husband and wife, mother and daughter, girlfriend and boyfriend, child and pet have in common?  They are all in relationships.  A relationship involves at least two individuals.  It may be by choice, as in you choose your spouse; or pre-set, as in the relationship of the mother and child. All relationships presuppose some level of interdependence. They share common needs and goals.  By this very nature, one will have an influence on the other although the extent can vary from case to case.

Relationships come about because of different factors:

~ proximity – our closeness to our relatives is an example.  They surround us all the time thereby becoming a big influence on the way we act.

~ similarity – we became close to our best friend in high school because we come from the same background.

~ reciprocal liking – we became attracted to an officemate because we liked the same food, watched the same movies and dressed similarly

~ complimentarily – it appears like a contradiction but opposites will attract because one sees qualities in the other that he does not have but desires.
