Making a conscious effort to improve your overall mood and your confidence is the cornerstone of pulling yourself out of this depression after your breakup. Once you start doing things for yourself and taking care of yourself there is a snowball effect that takes place. Even if you have to force yourself to do some of these things at first, eventually you begin to feel better about yourself and your life. Reading some good books on psychology and relationships can help you to understand yourself and begin the healing process. Understanding that all of us, your ex included, have some emotional baggage and focusing on becoming strong and self-confident has a healing effect. Being gentle and kind to yourself is your first step towards emotional healing and feeling good about your life and your current situation. Things might seem pretty bad right now but things will change. You are a good person and you deserve to be loved. You’re not a piece of garbage and the sooner you understand that, the sooner your ex will see that you’re a good person also.

Going through a breakup and pulling yourself back together can be one of the most difficult things that you will have to go through in your life. By focusing on feeling better about yourself and your life you can actually shorten the amount of time it is going to take to reunite with your ex. Focus on yourself right now and rebuilding your life into something that your ex will find attractive. Be happy and your ex will be more likely to be happy to spend time with you in the near future.
